VO: why do you want to go to the US?
Me: to pursue my undergraduate in mathematics and computer science.
VO: that’s great!
(Takes a bit of a gap)
VO: who’s going to fund your studies?
Me: my father is going to fund my studies. He’s a retired marine engineer and a landlord right now. He has three apartment buildings and twelve lands, of which in four he has crop farms. He also has two ponds in which he has small fish farms. Everything considered, he earns around fifty five thousand dollars per year. And recently he sold an apartment building for one hundred and forty thousand dollars.
VO: that’s very good.
(Takes another small gap)
VO: so where does your brother live?
Me: he lives in New York. He’s a US Citizen.
VO: oh nice. What does he do?
Me: he works at the New York City Human Resources Administration.
VO: and when did he start?
Me: he just star(ted)…last month.
(Takes a time gap)
VO: Thank you for applying. Unfortunately, you’re not eligible at this time.
Me: I completely understand. Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.
